(e)Mazing Race Block Party and more

For the third year in a row, Inspiredu held the (e)Mazing Race Back-2-School event, where corporate supporters compete to deliver 300 book bags filled with school supplies and laptops to the communities served by Inspiredu. Google Fiber was the presenting sponsor and we were excited to have them.

On the day of the event, we had corporate teams make their final destination of the race at the Inspiredu headquarters, where efforts are underway for our Capital Campaign to raise funds to build out our Volunteer and Training Center. We had 7 teams compete and Optomi ended up in first place. Marcus Wedderburn Inventory Acquisitions at Google Fiber had encouraging words to share with us as the presenting sponsor. In addition, Williams Wesley, Senior Community Development Representative presented a $4,000 check from Delta Community Credit Union.

In addition, we had a fun-filled block party with vendors like the G-Code Game Truck with video games, the “Atl Kid DJ” Reece Boogie providing music, King of Pops popsicles, Official Street Eats food truck, Freddie the Falcon, and plenty of family fun. We even had the Atlanta Fire Department come out to support us.

The (e)Mazing Race Block Party was open to the public for the very first time, and Inspiredu gave out backpacks with school supplies for kids in attendance. We also held a drawing to give away 5  laptops to those who were in attendance.
