Homeschooling and Starting a Business
We had the opportunity to catch up with Diana Atterbury, a participant in our Macs for Moms program we had several months back for Mother’s Day. We decided to see how her MacBook has been making a difference in her and her family's life.
Diana shared that she now has her own non-profit organization started. Omega Nu Christian Sorority, Incorporated ® (NON), a Christian organization, was founded on August 7, 2022.
It was established by Founder Diana Atterbury in her Atlanta Georgia home. She wanted to create a safe place for women to feel a sense of belonging, love, and to be a part of an organization where they can pray together, worship together, and serve together.
Diana used the MacBook to start her business and file her business. She said she uses her computer daily now for many reasons. Her four children also make great use of the MacBook. Her youngest daughter loves to use it for educational games and movies, and her 2 older high schoolers, Aaliyah, in the 9th grade, and Joshua, who's in the 10th grade, use it for homeschooling. They both previously attended Westlake High School. However, Diana felt that her children needed more one-on-one attention. Now they are enrolled in a homeschool program called FAVE, where they receive one-on-one sessions with their teacher. She says she has been so thankful that they can use the MacBook to log on to get their schoolwork done.
Diana is extremely grateful for Inspiredu and the Macs for Moms program which helped her in many ways with her family, career, and personal growth. She plans to continue to keep us updated on her progress and use her MacBook for all of her future endeavors.
