ATP Platinum Sponsors

ATP (Atlanta Technology Professionals) joined Inspiredu in their commitment to making a direct impact on young scholars and their families in 2016. Over the last six years, they have been instrumental in our efforts to increase community support and awareness and reduce the digital divide.

ATP’s motto is “connect, learn and give back.” While Michelle Henley was the ATP President, they formalized ATP Cares – the “give back” program of ATP. This new program allowed ATP to support the Atlanta community by partnering with nonprofits like Inspiredu. In 2015, Jen White introduced ATP to Inspiredu and in 2016, Courtney Simo recommended that Inspiredu be the sole partner for ATP Cares to the ATP Board. This recommendation was unanimously approved.

There are several reasons that made it an easy decision to select Inspiredu as the main nonprofit to support. Like Inspiredu, the ATP community is concerned about the large number of adults that still lack digital skills and truly cares about students feeling like they’ll never reach their dreams due to the lack of access and technology needed to be successful both in the classroom and beyond. There is also a vast shortage of IT professionals in Atlanta, and these adults and children could one day fill that gap.

Over the years, ATP Cares has made a financial contribution each year of up to $15,000, sold super tickets at the ATP CIO Golf Tournament in support of Inspiredu, hosted eDrives, sponsored Warehouse Days, raised money selling bingo cards at the CIO Roundtable, spotlighted Inspiredu in newsletters, social media and at events, and has continued to raise awareness for Inspiredu’s mission throughout the Atlanta technology community. This year, ATP Cares (now led by Becky Cole) plans to challenge attendees at their Awards Gala on November 10th to donate to Inspiredu’s “Brick-by-Brick” Campaign to help raise the funds needed to build a new volunteer and training center.

ATP Cares believes that if you provide people with the tools and training they need to be successful, you will eventually close the digital divide and break the cycle of poverty. Their ultimate goal is to continue to support Inspiredu and spread the word about our mission. We want to take the time to thank ATP for their continued support and effort to help us drive digital inclusion. Together, we can make an even greater impact to support meaningful and sustained change for equality.
