Opening Services to the General Public

This month we partnered with the Fab 5 Foundation to host a Family Learning Workshop and had a special guest appearance! Jazzy McBee of Streetz 94.5 FM came out to join our families for the workshop experience and said she was “so proud” of the turnout. We conducted our workshop at Inspiredu's Volunteer and Training Center, soon to be renovated as funds are raised through our Capital Campaign. During the workshop, a grandmother and her grandchild who were referred by the Jonesy Foundation received a laptop. She was overjoyed about finally receiving resources for the upcoming school year, exclaiming, “Oh my! It’s even a touch screen!”

We distributed 17 laptops at this particular workshop. Our CEO Richard Hicks was in attendance, and the families were happy to engage with him and learn more about the organization. Our programming team worked tirelessly to make this event happen, and they are excited about holding more community learning workshops open to the public.
