Impact Focus: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage During Digital Inclusion Week

On October 8, we partnered with the Latin American Association to celebrate both Hispanic Heritage Month and Digital Inclusion Week with a specialized training workshop. The event aimed to promote digital equity within Spanish-speaking communities and attracted a diverse group of participants, including families from Guatemala, Mexico, and other Latin American countries. All 27 participants received a laptop, hands-on digital training, and resources like information about low-cost Xfinity Internet Essentials and the Inspiredu help desk.

In fact, we’ve achieved 83% of our annual goal so far! Connecting The Dots for Digital Equity

Inspiredu joins commissioner Dana Barrett in her Connecting the Dots for Digital Equity initiative along with Comcast to serve Fulton County libraries with workshops and device distribution for families in Fulton County in 2024. The Connect the Dots workshops, powered by Inspiredu, Comcast, and the Fulton County Library System, provide a laptop, software, and training to get participants started with their learning and help them get connected to free or low cost internet

Fulton County Proclamation

Inspiredu was proud and humbled to accept a proclamation from Fulton County declaring January 10, 2024, as Digital Equity Day. Digital equity means that every person within a community has the necessary technology resources to participate in society, democracy, and the economy.

Extending Our Support

We completed our last workshop of the year in Barrow County with Easter Seals and Comcast at the Wimberly Center for Community Development in Winder, Georgia. The services of Easter Seals North Georgia are designed to support the academic, mental, physical, and social-emotional growth of Georgia’s children, no matter their ability, income, background, or circumstance.
