Inspiredu and Truist: Partnering for Digital Literacy

Inspiredu is pleased to announce that a generous community development grant awarded last year from Truist Charitable Fund (TCF) has been renewed for a second year. This grant has been a significant step toward helping us bridge the digital divide. TCF is a donor-advised fund administered by the Winston-Salem Foundation and part of the Truist Community Catalyst Initiative, a multiyear strategic partnership aimed at addressing some of Georgia’s most pressing community needs.

STEAM schools that make a difference

We recently had the pleasure of attending Brumby Elementary in Cobb County. This elementary school is a STEAM-based school that has many of the latest features for creating STEAM workshops and projects. With a censored floor in their gym and projection for interactive games, they truly are invested in giving their students grand opportunities and experiences.

Leverage Technology to Reading and STEM Afterschool

Since the beginning of the school year, our program staff has supported 4th-7th grade after-school students to help them with their reading skills. Our team and virtual reading guides leveraged the technology platform, BookNook, to provide small group and 1:1 reading support through digital books, lessons, and games. Additionally, we assessed students' reading levels and then tracked their progress as they attended regular weekly reading sessions.
