STEAM schools that make a difference

We recently had the pleasure of attending Brumby Elementary in Cobb County. This elementary school is a STEAM-based school that has many of the latest features for creating STEAM workshops and projects. With a censored floor in their gym and projection for interactive games, they truly are invested in giving their students grand opportunities and experiences.

Although the school has amazing features, most of the students lack access to technology. So with the help of GE sponsoring laptops and volunteering their time, we were thrilled to serve the astonishing 77 families who attended our Family Learning workshop. We held a workshop that consisted of 2 different sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Brumby Elementary was excited to have us on-site engaging with our families. Because they are a highly engaged community, they pride themselves on learning how to work together, and that is exactly what they did at the workshop. We showed them how to care for their devices and allowed them 20 minutes to explore games ranging from math and typing.

Spirits are so high at Brumby Elementary school that the students even had fun and put on a live TikTok dance at the end of our workshop. We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to serve the families of  Brumby Elementary.

In addition to all that Brumby does for their students, they also hold food drives every week for the community with pallets of produce and pantry food for the neighborhood.
