Q. As a Inspiredu board member, what are you most excited about?
I’m passionate about education and continuous learning, and I love how Inspiredu brings together families, teachers, and communities. This combination creates the perfect environment to make STEM learning fun, to become good problem solvers, and encourages them to achieve things they didn’t think were possible. The strength of this mission has kept me actively engaged for more than 10-years as a board/emeritus member. Inspiredu has also motivated me to recruit others, including a past board chair.
Q. What is your current job and what does it involve?
As a management and technology consultant, I enjoy taking on challenging projects that drive business transformation resulting in process improvements, cost reductions and revenue growth. While there is considerable focus on technology and process, it’s the people that create transformational success. And that’s where I spend most of my day – working with people to solve some of the company’s biggest problems.
Q. What is a day like in the life of Martin?
I’m an early riser and enjoy my morning workouts so I’m ready to take on the day! Every day is different and can involve a variety of leadership meetings, facilitated sessions, planning and project portfolio management. When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking, traveling and adventure vacations.
Q. How do you relate to Inspiredu’s mission, values, and/or work.
I believe in the power of education and continuous learning and I’ve seen firsthand how the Inspiredu workshops transform students and parents in just a few hours. Seeing a child and parent sitting together side by side, encouraging and supporting one another, creates a wonderful environment for learning. The staff at Inspiredu are amazing and I’m impressed with how they have worked together to grow an organization that has such a positive impact in our community.
