Opening Services to the General Public

This month we partnered with the Fab 5 Foundation to host a Family Learning Workshop and had a special guest appearance! Jazzy McBee of Streetz 94.5 FM came out to join our families for the workshop experience and said she was “so proud” of the turnout. We conducted our workshop at Inspiredu's Volunteer and Training Center, soon to be renovated as funds are raised through our Capital Campaign.

Board Highlight: Bre Pittman

 I'm excited to stay informed about the inspiring work carried out by the Inspiredu staff. Through my involvement on the advisory board, I've gained insights into the digital divide and its far-reaching effects, both locally in Atlanta and especially in rural communities where accessing technology is a significant challenge. Collaborating directly with the Inspiredu team, I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute towards providing devices to underserved students and adults. Even if my role as a board member impacts just one person, I believe it is worthwhile.

Moving Our Work Into New Communities

We made it to Savannah! Just several months back, KIA granted us the funds to serve the community, and here we are holding our very first family learning workshop in Savannah at the Habersham YMCA. This was one of Inspiredu’s biggest laptop distribution turnouts in history, with over 70 families and roughly 160 participants in attendance.

Board Highlight: Lauren Cusimano

What excites me the most is hearing everyone brainstorm and come up with ideas on how to continue to expand Inspiredu.  Everyone is so passionate, so creative, and hearing folks bring different ideas to the table and then watching those ideas come to life is really cool. A great recent example that came up at the Town Hall was implementing Cyber Security into our Digital Literacy classes.  Watching fellow board members jump into action, give feedback, and volunteer their time to help bring these ideas to life is really inspiring.

Volunteer Process for Laptops

Inspiredu offers volunteer opportunities at the volunteer training center to Individuals and corporations, where meaningful connections and impactful contributions come together. Over the past month, our doors opened to remarkable volunteers from prominent organizations such as GE, Cox Enterprises, KMS Technology and Rausch Advisory Services. We were truly honored to welcome them to our vibrant community.
